Name of this picture is Malam.jpg

How nice is this picture, the name Malam is not as uncommon as I once thought. There are a number of us out there.

Ran 4.3 at lunch today in the heat at 45 min. Not bad, feel pretty good. I need a long one this weekend. I would like to get a coach for my running as well to motivate me and keep me in line for the near future.

I would like a sub 4 hour marathon.

15 Miles on Sunday

And boy Howdy do my legs hurt.
Holy crapola, it is Tuesday and I am wondering how the hell I am going to run for Ultimate.
Its all good because I am an athlete, strong and able, even if my balance is a bit off. I am going to run Scranton and do well. I know this.
Hope all is well with all of you, it is a short post today, but soon I have to tell you about old friends coming to visit. What a weekend!

Motorcycle on Hold

Motorcycle is on hold till after the first of the year. I will explain why sometime when I am able to concentrate without being dizzy! For now sufficed to say, we are taking an obsession break. Perhaps I can again concentrate on running. Scranton is coming on quickly and although it is a down hillish course, it could get ugly if I am not trained up for it.

According to the schedule, I should be running a 14 this weekend. Hey this is OK, I am still OK. I was really worried about not being on pace, but I can do a 14 at lunch today (If I take a three Hour Lunch!) WHew, that makes me feel better.
I have 13 weeks left and according to the literature I have read, roughly 5-7 more dizzy days with BPPV.

Hope this finds you well and happy.

Feeling better

Dizzy-Curt
Barf- Sierra
URI-Robia
Ear Infection - Josh
Sheesh!

I have to tell you, being Dizzy for no apparent reason is freaky! I do not drink but I have had a few in my time. This is what it feels like. BPPV is supposed to last for a while 8-10 days, I will say that the internet yielded some good results as I found some excersizes that are intended to move the otoliths (ear rocks) to the anterior canals in the ears which is not the balance center.

Anyhow, I feel a little better today and if the improvement continues the same for tomorrow then I will be stoked. The entire family has fallen apart in the last couple weeks. Robia is messing with a Upper Respertory thingy with her current TX may be making the immune system a little less responsive. Sierra was sick with something she ate, Joshua has a double ear infection! Sheesh, when it rains it pours.

Be well,
Vaya Con Dios

In Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV) dizziness is thought to be due to debris which has collected within a part of the inner ear. This debris can be thought of as "ear rocks", although the formal name is "otoconia". Ear rocks are small crystals of calcium carbonate derived from a structure in the ear called the "utricle" (figure1 ). While the saccule also contains otoconia, they are not able to migrate into the canal system. The utricle may have been damaged by head injury, infection, or other disorder of the inner ear, or may have degenerated because of advanced age. Normally otoconia appear to have a slow turnover. They are probably dissolved naturally as well as actively reabsorbed by the "dark cells" of the labyrinth (Lim, 1973, 1984), which are found adjacent to the utricle and the crista, although this idea is not accepted by all (see Zucca, 1998, and Buckingham, 1999).

Just lovely, Lovely LOVELY!

From EYE hell to ear hell, could be worse, I could live in Bagdad.

Obsession

Can anyone tell me why I am so obsessive? I have had it in my head now for a month or so, that I need a motorcycle, rephrase, I want one. BAD. What does that have to do with the running blog. Well in a word the same nut that drives me to marathon distances, also makes me want to hit the open road on a bike,,,, I can see out on the road, in charge of my own destiny, only having to worry about the next gas station or water table...... get the comparison. I can be mentally on the open road in a pair of running shoes as easily as I could have 100 Horses between my legs!

Too funny, I am just freakin hilarious.

I will try to write more, really I will.

Be brave.
